Do you ever promise to do something completely absurd for yourself?

Say, commit to writing an entire blog post 365 days in a row… after just having STARTED that blog.

And remember when I said I’d probably end up writing something completely unhinged at 11:54 PM? Well, here we are. I WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE RIGHT THIS SOON. 😂 I mean, it’s only 11:07 now, but still.

Don’t get me wrong, I have PLENTY to say. What with the whole five kids and over-the-road trucker husband and all. 🤣

But some days, ahem, like today, time gets away from me.

It’s 10:28 on Sunday night. Tyler just left for work. And because it’s us I’m talking about, we didn’t slow down long enough for me to sit down any earlier.

Let’s RECAP.

Yesterday, we got up at 8 AM, went to urgent care, where FIVE out of SEVEN of us were informed we have EAR INFECTIONS, got breakfast, picked up medicine at CVS, and drove to the St. Louis Science Center for a dinosaur exhibit.

We stayed for two or three hours.

Then we immediately went to the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station, where we spent another two or three hours exploring, enjoying Pirates & Pumpkins, and generally having a blast.

Then we headed to Fitz’s SoCo for dinner with my momma around 7 PM.

Which, I feel I should mention, is the littles’ BEDTIME. HAHA!

We drove home around 9 and managed to get everyone into bed by 10:30.

That’s a completely typical Saturday or Sunday for us. LOL.

It’s… taxing.

Then today, we SLEPT IN UNTIL 10 AM!!!

IT WAS GLORIOUS!!

We had errands to run, so we cuddled, had breakfast, ran said errands, and then had a friend visiting US from STL!

It’s so nice when people we love come visit us! We have absolutely no qualms about driving to St. Louis, but it’s just nice knowing some folks drive to us every once in a great while, too. ❤️

So thank you, Katie!! Love you! MWAH!

We sat with Katie for a few hours, catching up while the kids ran amok and caused chaos, as per usual.

In between diaper changes, multiple snacks, meltdowns, and screaming…

SO. MUCH. SCREAMING!

…we decided to go to dinner before she left.

So off to Pizza 101 in Bonne Terre we went!

It’s good. You should go.

And try the fried Gouda mac & cheese bites. You won’t be disappointed.

Unless you dislike fried things. Or cheese.

Then ignore my recommendation, thanks. LOL!

Dinner was done around 6 or 6:30. Katie headed home, and we headed back to our own little circus.

Bath time. Medicine for FIVE people. Bedtime.

BUT, since Ty was leaving for work tonight, he’d promised the boys he’d play some pool with them before he left.

So from about 8:30 until 9:55, they played pool.

I didn’t get a pic tonight – but here’s a throwback to 2021 ❤️

Fun was had by all! Dad won, but the boys are learning!

Way earlier than me, I feel I should mention. I didn’t play pool until I was twenty-something, and I was HORRIBLE at it!

Actually, I’d love to know when YOU learned to play pool, if you ever did! Let me know!

Finally, the boys went to bed, and I’m already wondering how school is going to go tomorrow morning, considering they went to bed TWO HOURS later than normal.

Tyler packed up his stuff and left, which takes a while when you’re heading out in a truck.

Meanwhile, I had to sit with Ceile and Brenna the whole time to keep them from barking and waking the entire house. LOL.

And then, FINALLY, I sat down.

It’s now 10:41 PM, and I’m writing this post.

I went through the drafts I have sitting here, and I’ve got several things I want to publish, but none of them are quite 100% ready.

So instead, I worked on some existing posts, including my Crunch Time Heroes and the Archer Foundation article.

There’s a new college football hero selected each week, and sharing the campaign’s featured Instagram post helps support the Archer Foundation and families facing pediatric brain cancer.

That’s something I WANT to keep updated, because it matters. ❤️

Then I went back to working on drafts and editing some more.

And suddenly I thought…

OH CRAP. I HAVEN’T POSTED TODAY!

Damn it. LOL!!

So here I am, still writing, just blabbing on and on to someone who’s reading this.

Probably my mom.

Love you, Mom! 😂❤️

And wondering why I bother. LOL.

But looking back at the past month, because that’s all it’s been since I started doing this again, I realize how much I’ve actually accomplished.

I’ve written stories, connected with people, explored places, interviewed people doing incredible things, discovered opportunities I didn’t even know existed, and started building something that feels like ME.

And I’ve got SO MANY more things I want to do.

So maybe writing 365 days in a row is a completely ridiculous promise to make to myself.

Especially with five kids, a husband who drives a truck, and a family that apparently doesn’t understand the concept of sitting still.

But here I am.

It’s late. I’m tired. And I showed up anyway.

So stay tuned.

I’m done for tonight, but I’ll have more tomorrow.

Kelly I’M ME ❤️

Feel free to partake in the chaos that is my life! 5 kids, a giant TBR list, dreamer of vacations, researcher of anything remotely interesting. Sums it up in a nutshell. Did I mention chaos? Lots. Of. Chaos.
